Default Can someone help a fellow E series car

Ok there are a few threads of the issues my car is having with the return to idle and no engine braking. I’m at the stage where I want to drive it off a cliff.

Chiptorque had the car for 3 days and handed back to me with a big :

They have done multiple test and all passed.

They want me to track down a Manual EL ECU to test in my car.

So can anyone help me out? Some one also said to check all the earths in the rear of the car eg tail lights or fuel pump as all sensors share the same earth.

vegabass, I haven't been following this problem but what does rear earth have to do with engine braking?
How old is this motor?
Have you checked your ICV?

The car is manual, and you have an Auto ECU in it that you were trying to chip?

I should probably put the links in here...

It was a Auto, I did a manual conversion. It has a Chip with a custom tune incorporated with the Tickford manual settings.

I laughed at the guy who told me about the earths for the tail lights but he said he saw a falcon that had issues with sensors, and the loom had been damaged in the boot from a minor accident. when they fixed the damaged wires all problems were gone.

whats a ICV?

Throw it in the bin vegabass. Or if that sounds a bit rash just put a new motor and or wiring loom in it.

Does it do it every time you rev the motor?

Is the butterfly closing when you back off? I noticed on my car when I adjusted the TPS's, if I overtightened the screws the throttle was stiffer, and wouldn't snap close as easy. Broken throttle return spring maybe?

Oh, I thought that bit was pretty straightforward, like asking "Do I need a clutch with a manual"...

There is a place in QLD where you can buy new/remanufactured ECU's of any catch code. Somone may be able to remember the name of the place.

checked compression? could be low and would explain no engine braking.

Ill be checking the compression tomorrow!!!!

However, I unpluged he ISC and started the car, drove down the street and what would you know..ENGINE BRAKING AND QUICK REVS!!!!

so I adjusted the idle screw to make it idle and left the ISC unpluged!

ISC......who needs em.
