Am going to change the oil on a 2011 WT Zetec Fiesta 5 speed
I assume it must be GL4 and not GL5? (Nulon Full Synth 75w85 looks good) I have read mixed reports as far as draining the oil. Some say one must pump it out the fill hole as there is no drain hole. Others say the bolt directly underneath the fill hole is the drain plug. Any advice appreciated. |

Assuming it's the IB5 transmission then the oil is WSD-M2C200-C which is a fully synthetic GL4. Can't help with the draining as there is nothing noted in the WSM.

OK so I did the gearbox oil. (I have recently bought the car second hand). The 19mm bolt below the 8mm allen key fill plug is indeed the drain bolt.
under 1litre came out and was a bit brown but not bad. Syringed out a tiny bit more but still under 1litre all up. topped up with 1.9l of Nulon Full Synth 75w85 GL4 until it started coming out the hole. Not worried about overfilling even though ford say to keep it 1cm below the hole. Drove the car. Feels like a completely new gearbox and changes so much slicker, even going into reverse. I would say part of this would have been down to the low oil level in there to be fair, but very happy with the new oil. in 5000kms I will dump the oil again, so as to get rid of the last half a litre or whatever that is still in there getting diluted by the new Nulon. |

Is there a seal that needs to be replaced on the drain plug? About to do mine.
