Default 2013 MC Mondeo Wagon Deisel fuel filter Location????

I wish to replace the fuel filter on a 2013 Mondeo wagon, i tohught the filter housing was underneath but cant seem to find it, i rang a ford dealer and was told lift engine cover and look down near droivers side., did that and can only find the fuel pump?
I searched the Web but it doesn't cover wagons,
Any ideas as to where to look?

also on the filter purchase scene amazing on the prices I got. Repco $96, Bursons $56 and Genuine Ford from ford dealer $32!!!!! some one is trying to make big $$ on filters.

unless you've got it in the front engine bay area:

Also on prices, yeah some are ridiculous, my local Ford aren't that bad on AFL98 oil filters (and cabin filters $20 charcoal filter) but fuel filters are more costly. Stupidcheap/Autobarn/Repco are crap on all filters Ryco F$77 O$44 A$70 wtf?.

since bought filters OS to see me well into the future for like GBP$3-6
Engine Oil ~$80 to $104 for 10L

2013 MC will be in engine bay (drivers side near front of engine). I believe they changed mid 2012

This is how it is in my car.
This video has it in the same location as mine just has a different shield over it.

I'm guessing its sorted by now but the fuel filter is on the drivers side of the engine block under a metal cover.
  • Remove cover
  • Disconnect fuel lines and return line
  • Remove 4xTorq screws holding top of filter housing.
  • Gently pry up top of housing (there is a little recess to get a screw driver in on each side).
  • Remove filter.
  • Check residual diesel at bottom of housing for crap/water traces (I usually use an oil extractor and drain this completely)
  • Refill filter housing with clean diesel (this can be done after filter housing top is installed through a small screw)
  • Refit filter and re-install housing top
  • Refit fuel lines
  • At this stage I use the extractor to draw fuel from the return line until it flows (I never think to have fresh diesel to fill the filter housing) then re-attach
  • Start and check for leaks

NOTE the fuel filter is different to the one used under the back of the car (changed size 6/2012 or so)
