Stall convertor is king

Hey all i just got my stally fitted and i'm so happy with the result i just have to tell everyone. At first i took it easy and was actually dissapionted cause i didn't really notice any difference, but when i got closer to home i started to try it out and whoa, was i impressed.... No longer does it bog down in low revs, and i reckon its just right for my cam but i wont know for sure until i get some decent tread on the back and gain grip rather than lose traction.
And boy does it do standstills effortlessly.
The only thing is, i didn't get time to buy a trans cooler so thats on the books to do soon.
Thanks to Len at 'TORQUE CONVERTOR INDUSTRIES' in sydney and jamie at 'JRM TRANSMISSIONS' in adelaide. I recomend them to anyone in those states.
The stally cost $381 delivered to my door and $250 to install, service and check over my trans. $630 well spent.
But now i've got to adjust my trans cable again, its such a fine adjustment, i'm stuck with R,N,D for now till i can be bothered fixing it.

good your happy with it, what is the stall speed ?

What speed did you get? Lockup or non-lockup?

The stall speed is anywhere between 2500-3000rpm depending on the torque of the engine, and it did retain the overdrive losk up plate. Mine stalls to about 2800 but atm its hard to tell cause it spins very easily with bald tyres on the back.

good to hear mate, i lovr the stally in my xr8, its only a baby 2500rev job but it sure makes getting off the mark more fun, doesnt quite fix the btr first gear ratio tho

Nah i didn't actually, i just emailed him off his website for a quote on my stally with the specs i wanted and postage to adelaide and thats what he came back with, top bloke. I then gave him a call and he said he's done a couple of these recently and is happy with how they performed. And so am i. I'm just getting some new tread on now, can't wait to see how it launches when i get it back.
It took me all morning to get my selector cable right, its so sensitive, i think when my gbox gives in or if i get a little bit of spare dosh i might get a trans built up with a ba selector on the gbox and a ba bellhousing and do the cable properly.

Ok i got my new tread and have ben playing around with it a little, if i stall it up it goes to about 2600rpm then starts to break traction but if i just step on the loud pedal it goes to abit under 3000rpm and hovers there whilst it launches of the line.
It has made an incredible difference to taking off however i would like it to stall a bit higher.
