Default Would Skirts Make My Car A Girl?

Hey guys, this is pretty much my first post.

I recently bought a pretty shmick EF Xr6 from the forums here, I'll make a detailed thread about it in the workshop section at some point (it has about 165 - 170kw at the wheels, so I like it. A lot!)

But in the meantime here's some pics of it and my main problem is deciding whether or not I should get some 'ground effects' happening, though hopefully without looking too rice. I was thinking a set of EL skirts, along with the lower lips for the front and back. (No boot spoilers for me. I like the Brazilian look.)

At first I liked the dumped, sleek look but I'm thinking the lower lip kit might look even shmicker. So, opinions anyone?

i think it'd look better with the tickford side skirts and minus the rear spoiler. but the front looks mad.

That kit is the Millenium Kit, not too bad at all I think Adelaide Special Vehicles makes them.

Looked okay at first but then I realized the front looks a bit too much like a guppy mouth for my liking (and too similar to my Group A wannabe VN.)

Need to see it from a different angle.

Yeh Adelaide special vehicles use to make them but far as i know they went broke or shut down or some crap. As for skirts making your car look like a girl thats just retarded. p.s i also hate the word shmick.

Actually I didn't say it would make my car look like a girl, I asked if it would make my car a girl.

The main question being, the car looks good with non-ricey flowing lines, no spoiler and the like; will just the lower kit add bulk, depth and sexiness, or will it detract from the flow and enter patchwork territory.

And I prefer shmick to sweet, or mad, or nice, or noice, or whatever other parlance of the times jumps into my head.

Your car is already a little lady, adding some skirts will make her a sexy woman

I think these babies can look awesome with or without kits, it really ends up being personal preference. I have preferred to not put a kit on my girl for now. I have far more important things I need to do first.

When I do put a kit on her she will be getting a full respray

So, good luck with your choice and look forward to seeing pics if you do it or even if you don't. More pics of your new beasty

Cheers mate, I am definitely leaning towards it the more I think about it.

Talking about resprays I've been thinking about it (living across the road from a retired panel beater/spray painter with a shed full of goodies helps) and I keep thinking about blueprint... it's been done but I think it is a timeless colour.

Are you thinking on a colour change or just a fresh lick of white? *(Nice car by the way. )

Thanks, I think she is lovely too
I really love the way the white is so bright so it will definitely be staying white.

I have seen so many variant colours on the road, but the white ones always stand out and look so smart even when dirty. Since having the guy across the road it might well be worth something to look into really.
Before going to far into it all though, maybe see if one of the clever people on here that know how to photoshop stuff can do some of that for you. See what she might look like other colours but don't just look at it on the screen. Get it printed out and have it close by to check it out regularly. It is after all a big decision to change the colour.

Go for it.

I reckon the Tickford kits really improve the appearance of the EF/ELs. I reckon get the kit minus the spoiler and it will look great

100% from me for the full Tickford kit. Make sure its the EL kit as the door triangle pieces are bigger. I dont know why EF and EL XR's didnt come with the kit standard anyway, why make it an option!! It looks awesome!

Yeah I'm in full agreement on the EL door flares, they do look much better. Much bigger but they flow instead of becoming tacky.

And speaking of options I think mine did at one stage have the full kit (I got the detached boot spoiler with it) and there's tiny sikaflex/glue/something marks that make a silhouette that resemble front of the skirt on the guards.

Or the paint could just be weird.

I was thinking of an EL grille as well but the EF one has grown on me. Never liked the look of it in still photos but it looks nice up close.

Looks like I'm gonna go to work on her lower body then.

You could always try out the SVO gt kit, the front and back spoilers are just lip ad on's (sorry to hijack, but it worked for me)..;)

reviving an old post i know but Wild Zero, your car never came with the body kit. just the boot spoiler, those marks u are talking about are from where the factory mud spats had rubed the paint, and it was touched up.. And you should do the body kit..

(p.s Wild zero bought the car off me... )
