Will an el gt snorkle fit straight onto an ed v8 falcon?
And why is the el gt snorkle more expensive than the au series 3 tickford snorkle?

i have one on my 4liter fairmont ghia EF so it should fit
how much u paying for it

I believe they have issues with the P/S pulley. Talk to Madnc8, he's got one or something.
Why are they more expensive than AU3 XR8 ones? Who knows, spare parts pricing never made sense. |

i'd imagine the EL GT one possibly wouldnt fit due to the fan shroud on your ED.. the EF/L 's have thermo's
ive got an AU XR8 one on my car, had to trim some of it to get around the fan shroud issue, and also heat and reshape the area near the ps pulley so it would fit.... im gonna get thermo's soon, so i will try a new snorkel and see if it fits then.... Last edited by LUXO_8; 13-10-2005 at 07:17 PM. |

oh its an ed lol i dunno the clearance is perfect on mine (EF) all i can hear now is the pod filter sucking at 100mph thru it
 note: pod is in box lol

I use to have an EL GT/XR8 snorkle on my ED and it fit perfectly. No idea why they are more expensive, ford seem to pick numbers out of a barrel to determin the pricing on most of their parts.

Few people have fitted an AU snorkel so it should fit. (just not for me) :P
I think the EL GT one has a coloured tickford logo/ AU is just plain tickford logo. Could be wrong. I bought one to TRY and get something to fit with thermo fans. modded an AU one but it seems the neck of it is to high and stops the bonnet from closing when the snorkel is where you'd want it to be (top lined up with the rubber under the bonnet). Might try to squash it down before summer.

The EL GT/XR8 snorkle does not have any tickford wings on it, only the AU ones do.

I have a AU TS50 snorkle fitted to my EL went in easy enough just had drill I different hole for one of the screws to go in.

Thanx fellas! I just assumed coz ss inductions ones are so expensive that Tickford ones wouldnt be cheap either. But they are only a bit of plastic I guess!

I have 1 on my eb v8 with the crappy clutch fan and I had now problems went straigh on. I bought mine from the mike webb SVO joint in ringwood for $45 they are on ebay

i know they are expensive but the ss inductions snorkels are clearly the best. they have larger piping that actually require you to modify your air box to fit it and the snorkel itself is larger. larger pipe, bigger snorkel = more air

How are you getting an EL GT snorkel from ford? I couldnt get one and I buy everything way cheaper.
Last i herd they were discontiued, they must be old stock laying around |
