some great colours there. Not a fan of the look of the bog standard XA but the gt is on a completely different level. Very very tough.

as a kid in early 70's, I remember hearing my uncle talking about the 'wrap around dash', that was almost like space age in the early 70's. then a different uncle bought a 351 fairlane version. that was an absolute beast.
the first and only time i ever drove a base model 250 XA '3 on the tree' sedan, was in 1988. one of my old mates bought a beautiful brown one and although i was brought up with VC, VE, VK valiants with their slant and hemi sixes, which were supposed to be the better of all the 6's back then.....i was amazed at the real LOW DOWN torque of the old 250. it slugged up steep hills in 3rd gear with amazment. i was very impressed with the driveablility of it, and really enjoyed that car on long hilly drives we used to take it on. the worst part about it, and i suppose any aging car, (by the late 80's) with 3 on the tree suffered, was the linkages making smooth gear changes almost impossible. the valiant hemi may have had it in higher revs......but the orig pre crossflow 250 **** on the hemis down low. anyway happy birthday XA falcon.
