Default Fiesta WS Battery - Help

Does anyone know where would be a good place to buy a Fiesta Battery in Sydney?

Strangely mine seems to have dies (lasted only 30K).

I don't want to go to the dealer as I'm sure I'll get ripped off.

Repco quoted $189 but didn't have stock.

Is there a Marshalls batteries nearby?
Never had a problem with Marshalls. Normally independent owners who care about their product and your satisfaction.
For a sealed, non serviceable battery you will pay $150 plus..
I assume the NRMA will also ave a similar service to the RACV and will come to you and fit the battery on site. I've done this before and though its a bit more mney, it's quick and painless.

Any auto electrical shop will sell batteries, can't go wrong with Bond Premium, Supercharge Gold or Century batteries.

Don't get any of this "Powercharge" **** or you'll be going back to see them sooner than you expected, they're cheap **** and they always fail just out of warranty period, people just buy it when they need a new battery and they're selling the car soon.

RACV batteries are junk too.

Thanks guys. I just ordered the SuperCharge Gold MF44 for $145 delivered which seems pretty good value.

I'm quite surprised the original battery died in 2.5 years (normal usage).

Sorry Big Damo, but I had a RACV battery put in my old Eunos that lasted 5 years, till I sold the vehicle.
Non serviceable and the car did a minimum 80kms per day, 5 days a week.
So I'll say that RACV batteries are as good as any.

Battery life is a bit of an enigma. Sooooo many variables that you are best to go with the one with the longest basic warranty and the one that has a CCA / AH rating equal or better than what you are replacing.

Festiva battery lasted 5-6 years / 100k km each, Just changed the Focus battery @ 55k km / 2.8 years. Re pricing, Repco wanted $230ish for one of theirs that was around 500CCA / 2yr warranty and NRMA roadside was about $10 more with 3yr warranty and 600CCA. Didn't have to get my hands dirty either.

Dads XA falcon killed a battery after 9 years and I thought that was good till the NRMA guy told me he swapped a battery that was 12 years old in and old Merc!

I've probably replaced about 30 of them in customers cars when they've failed soon after warranty period expires.

Particularily in SUV/4x4s, or rural cars they don't hold up to vibration very well.

And the two starting batteries in my GMC Sierra which killed two new ones within 2 weeks.

So my experiences are overly negative, but surprising on the 5 years, must have got one of the few good ones

Motorcraft are junk as well, killed the one in my Focus in 14,000km.

Any battery will last longer in a car which does long trips, rather than lots of short little ones as it has a chance to be charged up fully.

I was talking to the guy who delivered my battery today and he mentioned that the NRMA batteries used to be good (made in SA by Exide?) however the new ones are very average made in fiji. I don't know if RACV and NRMA use the same batteries.

Same company, so I expect they would use the same supply contract.

That may explain the 2 different accounts of quality.

My WS battery died yesterday, no warning. 3 yrs, 50k. Got a jump start & drove around, stopped at an auto-electrician in Randwick. Got Bosch for $185. We'll see.
He reckons service departments rarely look at batteries.

I'm pretty sure if you purchase a Fiesta Battery (as opposed to a random ones that fits) it will be silver.
