just purchased EF11XR8 I understand it to be a factory built police car
how can i verify this

Vin Number.
Im not 100% on the best place to go to find out but im sure u can ring Ford and if its a Police car then it will be registered as "Sold to Victoria Police Force on such a date from such dealer etc..."
Sure there's probably websites that can do this also.

Didn't all Ford police cars have the OPT20 on the Id plate (As opposed to BT1 Police Commodores)
A mate of mine had a EL Futura that was a detectives car, and it was an OPT20 car...

It may also have a few holes drilled in the dash for police equipment, although these may have been replaced when its tour of duty was over.
Police cars also had a fine increment speedo, as opposed to the normal ones that go up in increments of 5km/h.

yeap look for OPT20 there may even be some extra looms still in there and it should go like the stig compared to another xr8 also speedo increments by 2 i think.

If you have the original hand book have a look at the back of it and if its an Ex cop car it should have a stamp Sayin Victoria Police under original owner. Thats if your in victoria

i looked at my neighbours EL Futura it had OPT20 on the IDD plate
