Default 2007 Australian Historic Motor Festival to feature Ford

17 October 2006

Dear Club Members

Winton Raceway has just run another successful Australian Historic Motor Festival for 2006.

With the Spring weather coming early, the track looked a picture, and racing in all fields & categories at the Festival, went off a treat.

2007 will see Winton Raceway again host the Festival, this year on the second weekend of October,

October 13 & 14 so as not to clash with the traditional dates for the Bathurst 1000.

Plans are already well advanced for our 2007 Festival we plan to have as our feature marque, a car that has been well renowned throughout Australia and in Australian Motorsport. FORD will be the featured marque for the Festival

We plan to have an impressive array of past & present Fords on Display, with Club displays and a Ford regularity event, covering all makes & models

Other well renowned cars to make the trip to Winton should include Max Warick's McLaren and Graham Sharley's 1938 Bentrolux. The Norax 2C Sportscar, Lancia Dungy, Ralts, Elfins, Lola’s, Clubmans, Always a highlight at this event will be the range of cars in both Pre & Post War Regularity Racing. Cars ranging from MG's & Austin's to the SR4 Matich, and many more.

Off track there is everything from the traditional Show’n”Shine, Sales & Tastings from local wineries to blacksmiths, an Art exhibition to historical displays & re-enactments, model trains as well as the ever-popular chainsaw carvers and woodworkers to model train displays, and much more.. Spectators can board the Edge FM Double Decker bus as it tours around the festival sites getting a different perspective on what is on offer. In the air there will be WW2 aerial displays and micro-lite flights, there will certainly be something for everyone at the 2007 Australian Historic Motor Festival.

Car Clubs are invited to register and attend enmasse. There will be a grand parade that clubs can take part in each day, driving laps around the race circuit, behind our pace car. There are many different trophies on offer for car clubs that attend from best presented best engineered.

Camping facilities, clean toilets and showers are available at the track, with gate opening at 7:00 am each day and on track activities starting at 9:00 am each day.

2007 will also mark the 50th anniversary of Benalla Auto Club, the owners of Winton Motor Raceway, as a club, & the year 2007 promises to be bigger and better than ever.

I am writing to ask you to be involved with your club & events and help us achieve our goal

I look forward to your response

All the best
Karl Aldridge
