Default E Series Board Member Voting

G'day all,

My apologies for the delay in organising the voting for the E Series Board. There are 4 candidates. From the list of nominations that you, the members, chose, we had input from the existing Board and AFF Admin and have left out members who have had run-ins with either body. This is to create a more harmonious and strong team with which we can face any future challenges. Also, the original plan of allowing up to 50% change in the Board members has been simplified because it is proving very difficult in logistical terms. This vote is for the replacement of the 8th Board member who has resigned. As a result, the next Board vote may be held early. This will be discussed in further detail and your input will be requested in an upcoming feedback thread.

The voting process is as follows:
Simple send a blank e-mail to tc_six@hotmail.com with your Club 'Nickname' and your chosen vote (MADNC_8, Rmyers, LTDHO or Fairmont1998) in the subject line.
After a week the results will be totalled and the 8th Board member instated. Only existing Club members may vote - if you are not a member, please see the stickied general information thread for information.

I am going to recommend that the Board starts a Club feedback thread when this voting is complete. Your input on all areas of Club management, voting and direction will be taken on board (no pun intended).

Cheers,

Jack

MADNC_8
"Hey guys, just thought I'd introduce myself to those that don't know me yet...

My name is Wayne, and I've been involved in the E-Series Owners Club since mid 2002.
I bought my first E series Ford in late 2002, being my Fairlane.

In my time in the club, I've been an active member, as well as holding the role of events organiser along with Rmyers.

I'm looking forward to taking on a more involved task within the club..
Thanks....

Wayne"

Rmyers
"I've been a member of E-Series since the very early days when it was ford.i8.com, and though there are members that have been on here longer, I can say that I'm probably the oldest regularly active member. Though I may not post everyday, I browse the forums at least twice a day, so there will rarely be times that I'll be "abscent" from the conversation. I've never had any issues ie warnings, bannings etc, let alone started any serious arguments among the club. Though I am not yet a board member, i still actively contribute to discussions with current board members in regards to its decisions, so I'll basically be doing what i already do, except my opinion would be official. Hope i get your vote!!!"

LTDHO
"I joined the club as early as I heard about it and feel I have been contributing to the club ever since. E-Series has seen my support from the start and now that I am a moderator I can contribute more to the Club. I have made my intentions for the Club known by a few members and I have plans to make the E-Series Owners Club the best and highly respected car club.

The new board member needs to be club and member orientated, who isn’t afraid to do things and get the job done. To be on the board you need to contribute to the club by more than just posting a lot, there are other areas that require attention. Already I assist where I can and would do more so if required.

Regards Wayne"

Fairmont1998
"I'd like to join the board as I believe I have the maturity and enthusiasm to help the Club move forward. I am passionate about the Club and E-Series cars in general and already spend a fair bit of time promoting the Club as the state rep for SA.

Darin"

G'day all, I would firstly like to apologise for the various delays in the course of this election, I realise I unfortunately cannot dedicate the same percentage of time to the Club as I once did.

With 7 out of 18 votes, a VERY close call went in the favour of Fairmont1998. Congratulations Darin on being the newest Board member!

You're not the only one, very few members actually voted.

Although it was a hot topic, this thread was missed by many people.

O.K. well I did not vote .. but then again I don't go into all threads or sections of this forum..
If I had of known (I know there is no excuse) I would have been more then happy to vote .... But sorry to say it Probably (95% sure) it would not have been Fairmont1998 .. thats no reason at all but I have just never spoken to him before.... But im sure that who ever would have won would still have to live up to the task anyway.. in saying all of that
Well Done Fairmont1998 I hope you do a good job and you like doing it ... Congrats . .

Red face Board Members

Although yes i voted via email and my congrats to Darryn i feel the vote is in fact still invalid as to the remarks already made as to the validity given the sticky was locked and given the amount of registered users of the "e" series section of the forum. Please be advised that I hope this does not get misconstrewed by anyone or put anyone's nose out of joint in what I have said here but maybe for future reference this dibacle needs to be addressed in a different manner maybe a major broadcast to all the e-series users via PM with a link for right of reply . Just a thought ...Congrats and comiserations to the other candidates...Ian b

in our defence.
the thread clearly states how to vote.
we can't simply send a PM to all eseries members, do you know how many there are.
there is not simple way to send a PM to all eseries members.
if people failed to read a Sticky (remmeber, stickies are there to be read)
somehow the spotted thread and other stickies get noticed.

I know I recieve emails about upcoming cruises, so it wouldn't be too hard to do something similar in relation to voting?

BTW. I didn't vote because I thought all the candidates would do an outstanding job. Darin is the only one I haven't met, but from what I've seen on the forums, he does a great job as a moderator. I simply couldn't decide who to vote for. Congrats Darin.

we found it important to ensure it was upto active eseries members, email votes are too hard to validate.

Just 2 questions:-

Is this the first time there has been voting for board members?

And how long has the club been running for?
