Right then...i've had enough of everyones crap!
All people seem to do on these forums is flog Ford Australia for their current lack of success. Whether this be due to circumstances out of their control, lack of quality marketing, lack of support from Ford US, or many other various reasons, things aren't great. Get over it! Let's take a look at where we are today 2007: BF Mk2, selling poorly, but the model is 9 years old with AU style Territory - Landmark Australian Car, need i say more Focus - Selling the most units is has ever in this country Fiesta - Competing with others Ute - Consistently near the top of the charts Ranger - New product give it time TODAY: Ford Focus Diesel - Sensible move, in line with market demands, should sell a bucket load Ford Focus 5 door Zetec and Ghia - Opening up possible opportunities in the market Ford Focus Cabrio - Again, more opportunities now being explored Ford Mondeo - Launched in Australia before the rest of the world. GREAT NEWS! Well done Ford Oz. Comes with 3 levels of price for both sedan and hatch, something over Epica, plus a more powerful base engine, which happens to come with diesel Territory SR - Great idea to bump up sales without taking the spotlight off new falcon, mondeo, focus or... Fiesta XR4 - Do I need to say it again...more market opportunities Overall: Forward positive action from both Ford and FPV, with the 40th GT. Let's get off Ford's back, stop bitching, write some positive letters to the people who listen, believe me, they do, and they send emails back also! Heres to the new generation of Ford Models, may we finally conquer the Red Side once and for all Cuey! |

Yey !!!!!!
A positive post.....am I dreaming ? Great effort mate, keep it up. In all seriousness, the Aussie Car makers are really struggling. They have a lot of competition and have been punching above their weight (ie: resources) for a long time. It's good to see Ford are having a crack with imported product (now 70% of the total market). I love the Bondeo. But.................I can't wait for the 2008 Falcon. Go Orion !!! |

Write some positive emails to Ford, and they might just listen.
Think about it, do you ever listen to anyone who bags the hell out of you? People listen to positive comments...trust me |

Diesel Terri is in the works! [QUOTE] And that is exactly the problem. It is an embarrassment that it is still in development it should have been on the road two years ago. |

Not many people here know for sure whats in the pipeline.
Just because BF is getting long in the tooth its not the end of the world. In the EL days, Ford Oz had to endure the same problem, and when AU arrived, it didn't make up for any lost ground. So it was about 5-6 years that Ford Oz were struggling for sales - BA came along with Territory and turned things around a fair bit. Its just a cycle that happens. And what a great success story Territory was, without which Ford Oz would've been in deep trouble. Some people here carry on like children with a "I want it and I want it NOW" attitude, but maybe Ford Oz want to give Orion the (same as Territory) PROPER R&D that will make it kick butt. I see good times ahead for the Ford Aus. Remember, they've also been given the deal to design the Ranger replacement - thats nothing to be sneezed at. And thanks Cuey for starting what really was necessary. One important note, lets all be thankful Orion will happen and we not gonna end up with some yank tank - who knows how close we were to that happening. |

Went and saw Ford's lineup tonight at the Motor Show. I was very impressed to say the least and I couldn't understand why on earth they would be struggling. Surely fuel prices alone can't put people off such nice cars. The mondeo looks ok, but still sorta looks like a tiburon with waxed eyebrows. The 40th anniversary GT looks damn nice but I think with the force range they aren't deviating enough from the Fairmont Ghia. Will definitely turn into a Fairlane/LTD sales slump (not enough differentiation, ZERO LTD sales last month :hihi: ) and I would be very surprised if they sell many Force cars at all. Overall though, there were some very nice cars at the Ford stand, and they are so much more refined than even the latest VE commodore range, especially the interior. IMO the commodore interior looks rather tacky and flimsy compared to the smooth lines of the Ford interiors.

Diesel Motors take time...they're very complicated. I can understand a 2 year timeline for R&D
Have faith Ford Fans, all will be ok! |

Your post reads like a Ford employee troll. It's a well documented human trait that people like to voice their disappointment when things go wrong but are reticent about voicing their approval of positive happenings. I've yet to experience the latter from Ford Manufacturing or my Ford Service Department. |

how long do we have to stick it out before Ford start giving what the customer wants?
its time to look beyond Australia as a market, global is the only way to go and Holden have proven this. look at what Holden are bringing/are going to be bringing to the local market in the next year or so. what do Ford have to offer to compete? not a lot. its getting/going to get to the stage where Holden sets the bench mark and Ford have to try and catch up. sorry but a GT isnt going to compete with a (confirmed) Camaro. |

Will be good to see a FPV in the future too I think.
You'll end up seeing: FPV Fiesta FPV Focus FPV Mondeo FPV Falcon FPV Territory. Should be a great line up

davway: Didn't Ford start that trend with the Mustang?
Though, in that context, I'd love to see a remade XB Coupe. After seeing the Dodge Challenger concept I figured that the XB coupe could be the hottest retro styled design Ford Aus could do!
