Default Impulse buys are fun!

Hi everyone

Just bought myself another AU ute! woohoo!!! drove past it and thought to myself oo i like the look of that! So i went over and had a closer look, long story short i now own a silver AU1 XLS V8 ute.

This is officially my first V8 and i gotta say why didn't i buy one sooner??
This ute basically is what i wanted to buy when i bought my white I6 AUII. I am HUGELY happy with it. popped the bonnet and shes got pacemaker headers and a full twin exhaust system, as soon as i got home i pulled out my K&N filter from the 6 along with the tickford snorkel and slapped them both in. VER NIICE!

So now i gotta sell the white ute, so i'm curious if theres anything i can swap from the AUII and put into the AUI before i sell it?

will post some pics over the weekend

Cheers

Being stuck in the southwest of WA prices are a bit higher than they should be, i paid $14k for it. I'm happy with it for that price theres prolly ones for $10k over east but hey thats the way it goes.
It's done 150,000 kays, body and interior is straight as too except a small dint in the tailgate froma trailor...is there such a thing as a falcon ute with a tow bar that doesn't have some kinda dent there? lol

I read that AUII brakes are better than AUI, how involved would changing the brakes be?

I've actually got whiteline swaybars and king springs lined up which were originally for the AUII, i had to ring and change the order today and founf out that a series 1 swaybar is way more expensive than the series 2, then the adjustable one was like $40 more so i thought bugger it i'll go adjustable front swaybar.

if you swap the brakes, wouldnt there be some problem with legality, cause you would be reducing the braking capacity on the AUII

the brakes on the AUI seem pretty good, prolly won't worry about the swap. might upgrade them down the track anyway.

they come from the factory like that. _2:
98% of ALL utes i have ever seen have a dent in the tail gate.

sounds like a good buy too.
ive always wanted an 8 but for some reason i always settle for a 6.
my next car MUST be an 8.

just wondering....the front guards, nose and bonnet...cannt remember if they stayed the same over the au 1 - 3 utes, iknow they changed on the sedans/wagons, but if they are different, perhaps swap that as well. definitly change dash for better stereo, unless you have fitted a new one to s1, then just swap the stereo and pocket.

the fronts end seems to be identical, yeah i got my own cd player to go in, still deciding if i want to put the sub in, there wasn't much room before, might have to look for a thinner box for it.
