Hi
I had my AU for a while, The car is AU III and in the back of the car in the morning when the car is cold, sounds like in the left tyre or left part of the diff, I hear some noise. It lasts only for first few hundred meters. The sound can be compared to a tyre with something stuck on it. Any experinces like that? ..

Um i get something similiar but I know its just wind flappage through the 18's and skirts...

got a good mechanic? Had a similar noise but when the wheel studs snapped and I fixed that the noise went away. lol hope you don't have the same problem.

I think my problem is of different nature. Strangely it is one of this faults that comes and goes. Hard to isolate.

Are you saying that when I hear that noise in the morning, I should try to pull and release the handbrake few times and see if it helps getting rid of that noise?

yeah 4 of 5 snapped, scary huh, mate from ford said that it must have been a loose wheel

yeh, mine makes noises and when i pull it up a little the noise goes away. anything is worth a try and thats an easy way to see if it stops but even if it does it could also be something else. random noises are such a pain

Just about bet that it's the handbrake. First time mine did it I turned around and came home to check out underneath the car, lol.
Just pull your handbrake lever up and down a couple of times. |

I'll put my first bet on the handbrake also.
As you take off very slowly, just lift the handbrake up a little, if that's the problem, the slight lift will stop the noise. Don't leave up up though! LOL! If it's the handbrake, you've experienced what all of us here experience at some time or another. Cheers, GK
