Hey again peoples,
I want to do a compresssion test on my I6 AUII, as i suspect i have a blown head gasket (see epic story in another thread). But what i need to know is, where and what fuse can i pull to kill the spark, to the leads as im not keen on taking them off both ends or simply leaving the sparkplug ends hanging? And i dont want to reset my ecu, or radio (friggin coded s^*t). Cheers again, Simon |

Hey how are you,
Just disconnect all the leads and lay them back over the engine towards the intake manifold. Don't forget to remove all the spark plugs, hold the throttle wide open during the test and try to count the number of compression stroke and keep them all the same. Good luck. Tech Trainer |

Hey thanks tech trainer,
Why is it that you remove all the spark plugs at the same time and hold the throttle full open? Im not saying at all that this isn't necessary i dont know, and i wouldnt have done either of these things had you not mentioned them...? Thanks, Simon. |

Allows the engine to spin free and the test cylinder to have access to a full load of air.
