Question touch up paint

I have an 1999 AU Forte in Congo Green (paint code DG) does anyone know if Holts dupli-color or Powerplus make touch up paints in Congo Green?

The reason i ask is that i had a really heated arguement with a gentleman fron auto one, who swears black and blue that ford never made a car painted in congo green! Even though my car was sitting outside! When i asked him to take a look at it he reckons that its Oxford Green! ARGHHHHH!!!

: plus he drives a dunnydore so he wouldn't have a clue!

You can buy some paint with a touch up brush from ford, approx $15 for a bottle. At least you know its the factory colour!

Yeah, that's for 10ml of it.

Go to your local Autobarn and tell them you want paint mixed up for your car, give them the paint code and voila. So, so easy.

I had to do it recently.

Try to find the part number (will make it easy) then either ring up and quote the # or walk in and ask for it, if they don't have stock they will order it. but honestly most parts are easier and cheaper non genuine. ford Rip you bad.

Autobarn is the way to go. They can put it in a tin as well. That's better for touch ups than aerosol. A pack of toothpicks, stiff and soft extra thin brushes and you have a top touch up kit.

Another tip (if you are unfortunate enough to need a panel resprayed) is to ask the panel beater for any left over paint.

I have scored two lots from my panel beater. He's offered it to me both times, as he would have thrown it out anyway.

How much would you get out of 15ml, Ive got quite a few stone chips I want to touch up on the front of the car. Also on my steel tray I want to try and respray part of the tie rail so would it be easier just to get a aerosol for both and just spray some into a cap and use that for touchups on the front

Youd be surprised how far 15mL goes. Using a small brush and just getting tiny dabs on there would be the go. Depending on your tray you may need a bit more for it though and an aerosol would probably give a better finish.
