No one has mentioned it yet :
McGrath will retire after the world cup next year, I assume that Sydney will be his last test match. |

Yeah.
I cant believe the amount of coverage Warney got, and no one says boo about McGrath, his equally as good IMO. His the one that gets the good guys at the start!

Doubt McGrath would care how much coverage he gets, sad to see him go but Clarke seems to be looking the goods as he has done very well this summer. |

Good luck to him. He has brought so much to cricket over the years, and has been great to watch. Cricket will not be the same next season without him, or Warney either. Still times change, and new champions will have their time...

Only if they all retired and cricket was banned in Australia.
Or maybe if they removed sport related news completley from the news on the TV and replaced it with some sport show to be shown at midnight. Or just put the weather before the sport portion of the news. So I can just switch it off and not listen to how some guy punted a ball in some direction and so I don't have to see a bunch of guys sweating, walking in a pool, wearing speedos and trying to wearing suits at tribunals. I guess I just have to keep on dreaming, or make another thread.

Glenn McGrath retiring was expected. His wife has battled illness that many times and due to Australia having a full trophy cabinet, it's a good time to go when he's still a top-class bowler.
The worst thing that could happen is if he becomes crap and he'll be remembered as a bowler who was once great, but played for too long and became crap. I'm glad that both he and Warne are walking away when they're still among the best bowlers in their class in the world. I salute thee! |
