Default dash digital display problem

Hi guys, i have a 5 speed.....

Just the other day i noticed a BIG "D" in the middle of my dash.....Im guessing this is for "D"rive....

My car is factory 5 speed...

How can i get rid of it?

Do you have a tickford or high series cluster? I didn't think the standard cluster had gear position display, the only 'D' i could see on it would be part of the DTE display.

The D is for drive. XR's and T series have them in their clusters. Didn't know Futuras did too.

Yeah i have installed a high series dash (xr), it has been installed for about 12 months now but just the other day the "D" appeared...

Any ideas

could it be a wiring mixup from low to high series, and meant to illuminate the spanner for service instead of a "D", or even a low water light....
