Thumbs up AU2 Fairmont Ghia Alarm system.

Anyone have any ideas on fitting an aftermarket alarm system to an AU2 F/Ghia ? I have to show my ignorance but as the interior lights are obviously not turned on by door switches can I assume the only type one could reasonably fit would be ultra-sonic or motion detector thereby leaving Ford's remote to do it's own thing.

Thanks Folks
