Are you serious, a V8 VN or even an EB V8 for a collectable???

The world is full of these types of deals where people have something of value only to let it go for something that would be worth less in years to come.

Please take my advice, if you can afford it, put it away somewhere where it can be retrieved in a decade or 2. 6 grand is not a lot of money these days so if you can afford to please put it away somewhere safe so you can enjoy it later. Buy what you can afford today and enjoy that now.

I am not trying to have a go at what car you wish to drive now as I know it might suit your budget and other requirements at this time. I am just trying make you stop and think for a bit.

You hear a lot of these stories over the years, I once worked with a bloke who owned a genuine L J GTR (not XU-1) Torana that he owned and looked after for years. He sold it in the early 90's for funnily enough 6K so he could buy a manual V6 VR Commodore for just over 20K.

He still has the Commodore today and it has been a good car so normal loss through deprecation is really not a concern, but I know what is worth more now and for years to come.

There are plenty of stories out there like this. The problem is you don"t see it at the time, only many years later and as they say, "you don't know what you got until it is gone"
