As EF said, the figures quoted when talking about the power figures are flywheel. The power figure is an average of a sample of engines they put on the dyno.

and then it becomes confusing as Holden use a different typre of measurement when it comes to kW ratings as well ... compared to Ford.

not necessarily, the reason why they give you flywheel power is it is much easier to get an accurate reading from an engine that is run on a bench.

Dyno's can be a long way out between 1 and the other. Whereas the avg of 10 engines on a bench gives a preety good indication of power & torque output

Another thing to think about is, to dyno a car the engine must be in, & you would get 2 different reading between a manual and automatic, even using the same engine.

which works out to about what HLC has in his signature ... it can vary between 110-120 rwkw though ... depends on the tune of the vehicle and how well it has been looked after. Also the auto can give a slightly lower reading than the manual due to stall converter robbing a few kw.
