Default Central Coast- New Water Restrictions

Just a quick heads up for central coast FF members. Level 4 Water restrictions kicked in today, so no washing of the our Fords with town water full stop.

So all central coast residents better either get tankwater, get chummy with a Novocastrian or run for mayor because we are stuffed. The government local, state and federal has been asleep at the wheel for too long and have insisted using local water (not hunter water) and peristing with that crap dam at Mangrove Mountain for way too long.

Its a great dam, just damn near empty, one day it will fill - I remember seeing it at I think 67-69% full, its what, down to 13 - 17% now??

The Hunter Water folk have finalised by the looks of it the large diameter water pipe running from around Toronto to the Central Coast, so our supply will help prevent you lot getting thirsty, our dam levels are in the 90's, with other key Hunter dams at 60% or so.

All the 'chatter' over the last few months is programming to get us use to paying much more for water. Love corporatisation of what once were primary public assets.

Let's NOT forget that the Central Coast waterboard in their wisdom released 25% of Mangrove Creeks capacity in the early 90's to allow for the 'Boomerang Creek' pipeline connecting Mardi & Mangrove Creek Dams, despite being advised that the weather patterns did NOT bode well for good sustained rainfall for the decade following the release.
Or that the 2 local councils have been two of the largest growth areas anywhere in the state, with little regard given to dwindling essential service infrastructure.

This has been coming for years! Those dills that gave the green light to all the new housing estates are to blame. Its not the state gov so much, the finger should be pointed at the local gov, [wyong & gosford councils] These rate hungry blood suckers have screwed the coast and now Lake Mac & Newcastle have to bail them out by running our water down to them!

As for that hopless Mangrove dam, what a joke on the people of NSW.
I dont know because im no expert but. Tell me if water can run uphill ? because thats were these drongos built the dam! on top of a mountain were all the water runs away from.
All I can say to those on the central coast is "get use to it" as I cant see even if we get heaps of rain the dam ever being full or even half full for that matter. Its been there for over 20 years & has never been more that 69 to 70% full.

Yet another good reason to come to the Wagga All Ford Day, your allowed to wash ya car!

We can wash our cars at the same time as the sprinklers water our lawns... gee it's tough in the bush :
