Correct, decided on the second due to brakes as a main point, was a no brainer really ( as you say ). The one day when your going to need them ( if there is a day ) worth every penny

ontop of/adding on what has already been mentioned.

4 power windows with global close. (you can open and close all the car windows with the keyfob
ABS with electronic brake force distribution (gives braking to the wheels that grip)
Colour coded side moulding and mirrors
Centre console with armrest (as opposed to a little tray)
4 airbags instead of 2
Seat-back pockets (none in CL)
Centre rear headrest (none in CL)
Rear Centre Armrest (the Zetec has cup holders in them)

Heres the spec sheet: http://ford.com.au/global/pdf/range/...ocus_specs.pdf

Smooth Pack will give you some ugly 15" alloys and colour coded electric mirrors and the cruise control
Safety Pack will give you the side airbags and the ABS with EBD

i have a CL with the safety pack, and it was pretty good value, but if we were to do it again the LX would be the pick... i have got a fair bit of money to spend on the CL now just to get it up on par with the LX

I'd also add the two rear air vents on the back of the centre console - only on the LX, Zetec & Ghia.

CL & XR5 Turbo miss out.

I never really saw the point of the air vents for the back. As far as I'm concerned, if you're in the back seat... you should consider yourself priviledged to ride in my car. Anything else I provide you is just a bonus. lol

Hence why I own a 3 door. Not apying $1,000 for my passengers. Plus I look more pimp in a 3 door.
