Default Any coin collectors out there

Does any one know if a 1907 half-penny coin is worth anything.? A friend of mine has found one and it is very dirty-she hasn,t cleaned it-so we cant read it properly.Just thought i would ask before we ring a coin collector up.

There are a few sites on the net where you can get approx values. Have used it myself ages ago but cant remember the addresses. Found some old coins, oldest 1914 I think when doing some plumbing work years ago under an old library we were converting into a house

Is it English?
Cos first Aussie half penny was 1911.

Check Ebay to get an idea.

My Great grandma gave me a coin from 1816, i remember because it was 100 years before she was born. i think thats why she got it aswell.
But i was like 8 or 10 and i did what we 10 year olds do best and show it off then hide it... but lost it... kinda regret it now..

I do...
I work in a servo..
I've got no "old" money, just dozens of odd coins from other countries.
Dad has quite a few hidden away somewhere. I'm sure some of them would be worth some money (pun intented.)

Don't get your hopes up guys.
I've seen 2,000 year old Roman coins going for $5.

The 1907 Half penny and penny most probably are English, with Britannia on the front.
According to my old source book, the halfpenny has a mintage of 16.8 million, and the penny is 47.32 million. Not rare by any means. But a lot also depends on their condition. But rarity in this case, I'm sorry, they are not.

Yes true. Half Pennys can be anything from 50 cents for a poor grade 1911 to 220K for a proof 1923. It all depends on rarity and then condition rather than age.

How about 75 cents for a poor grade 1916 compared with 675 grand for a proof 1930 penny.

Anyone got a 1914-1924 one thousand pound note in uncirculated condition $1 million+

Yes you are 100% correct...Good advice as it would be scary to think how many people would take possesion of an old coin and think they will restore it.

Hey SB,
Know of any coin dealers here in Adelaide? I just inherited a whole heap from my father when he passed away in 2005 and am interested in getting these valued. I have Aust. Pennies from 1911 through to 1964, minus the 1930 and 1924 years, Half Pennies, Florins, Three Pences, Sixpences, plus a whole heap of other things. I am more interested in pricing these coins, and other collectable ones that I got as well.
Cheers!
Sgt Doofey.

I am keen on buying collectable coins, for a personal collection, I am not a dealer. If anyone has something they want to sell, please let me know, thanks
