Default Steering Wheel Torx Bit

Does anyone in Brisbane have the torx bit that you need to change over steering wheels in the AU? I'm taking off my momo to sell it (see for sale section) and need to get my hands on one. Can you buy them anywhere? I don't want to pay ford 40 bucks like I did when I had it put on! Cheers, Matt.

You can buy them in a set or individually at Repco stores.

Mattp,

Why are you selling it? Are you going with the original wheel or have something else in mind?

In any case, I hope you get the wheel off ok!

Just use a flat blade screwdriver, or screwdriver bit, and take a 2mm notch out of the middle of it. You could even buy a cheap screwdriver from supercheap or bunnings for $1 or $2 to do this. Much cheaper than $40 from ford, and just as effective.

I replaced my torx bits bolts with allen key bolts (either 5 or 6mm metric x 20mm long) - much easier to get off, and still some security over a standard 8 or 10mm bolt head.

Thanks Glenn!
GK, I'm selling it since when I bought it there were no new ones to be found anywhere, and this was the only 2nd hand one around (from FTG). I've since been lucky enough to find a brand new one, so am going to sell this one and replace it with that. Probably not necessary, but I'd rather a newie since I have the opportunity. The one I have is in excellent nick anyway, but oh well :
Now all I need is a buyer!

I found the bit tonight after searching through my garage hehehe. Let me know when you get your wheel and we can arrange to swap them over. I can do it for you if you like.

Sweet, thanks Glenn, I'll give you a yell when I get the new one. And if you need an extra pair of hands when you're dropping your beast let me know. Cheers.
