Default XR8 being chased by cops down the mountains, right now

Heh my girlfriend just called me from the train, an XR8 in a high speed chase by highway patrol.. near blaxland.. :eclipsee_

Why do people run? They're going to catch you.. especially when you're on the great western highway there's nowhere to go .. :MrT_anim:

Edit: she said it's a ute, looked like a BA.. had 5 marked cars and an undercover with the lights.. going at least 100kmh+ (overtaking other cars in the 80 zone)

Mobiles/radios/helicopters have just about killed any chance of geting away once spotted.

Easy to get away - Drive to Penriff plaza underground car park, put on bright yellow Fubu jacket and white Fila pants and blend in with all the other little homies hanging outside Hoyts!

Either that or just drive on the wrong side of the road for 30seconds and the police have to call it off because of the danger to other drivers. Police have their hands tied quite a bit when it comes to dangerous things like this. Its all to do with the public backlash when there is an accident, and the fact that the police don't want any! Before you ask, my borther is a police officer. :monkes:

Beat me to it but you are exactly right, except i'm from campbelltown it's the little things like this you pick up living out this way. Even high speed on the correct side of the road is enough to terminanate a pursuit, failing that turn yours lights off (If dark) and it's all over.

Heard a chase one night out my way, guy in a blue xr8 ute done a skid and hit a stop sign after loseing it. Hwp saw it and gave chase but never got close enough to get his plate, managed to hit the freeway and got away from 4 car's that responded from the local area. guy had taken his dads ute to the pub had a few drinks and couldn't controll the car and ran once he lost it, rang his parents who went straight to the cop shop and dobbed him in thinking he might kill himself by running.

How he got away i don't know as i was heading along the same road he was before he hit the freeway so he never went past me, a few hwp from the next region sat on the freeway for 2 hours and they couldn't find him. There were no exits between where he got on and where the car's sat but he got away till his mum walked in the cop shop.

Surely if the cops can get close enough to get the license plates or red light cameras can be used to get the number plates they have a good chance of finding out where the culprit lives. Its got to be better than saying we gave up the chase before the accident happened, or getting them safely becaused they are ot being chased.

That is absolutely correct however not every car driven at high speed and trying to elude the police is a stolen car.
