Default Does anyone know...

Does anyone know where I can get hold of an XR Series one instrument cluster with around 120, to 140,000 km's? My dearest uncle smashed his XR8, (no insurance and Im chasing up bits for a cheap repair for him. Instrument cluster has been taken out and sent to an auto elec, and he pronounced it dead. His car has approx 130,000, and we're trying to get it in the ball park. Any help, or any help that leads to a purchase will be rewarded with... something. Somehow! But yeah! ANy help seriously appreciated. I rung around wreckers, and not got far! Thanks in advance guys!

Send it to VDO. They will fix it for under $200. About the same cost as one from the wreckers. Or try FTG Auto Salvage (site sponsor).

Damn, if it was a week ago I could've helped you! To let you know rough prices, I paid $220 at a wreckers here in Brisbane for a S1 XR cluster with low k's, which I then had to sell on ebay cos it didn't work in my Fairmont. Sell price on ebay was ~$180. Good luck!

VDO is one of the largest automotive/marine instrument/gauge makes in the world ... they do the majority of car manufacturers factory gauge clusters.
