Cool what's wrong with this .. EBii

I've got white door trims with grey bottoms
but the bumpers are all white, and badly at that.

what's been badly painted to try and get it all white ?
the front bumper is peeling in three places .....

just bought the car and want to think about tidying it up.

I could be wrong but I think the upper half of the bumpers and side strips are supposed to grey, and the grey part of your strips should be chrome to match the bumpers..

if it goes grey on top like in the avatar pic to the left ....
it looks more uniform, but then it's EA S Pack
this is EBii Fairmont Ghia ( apart from chrome vs red strip )

nope that is how they were from factory. only ghia's got this arrangement. id say the front bumper has had a dodgy respray at some stage or paint wasnt looked after well for that front bumper to be peeling. it only really stands out on white cars :P on mine i dont notice it.

The grey bottoms on the door trims are a bit suss as well. EB Ghias had fully colour coded side mouldings with the chrome strip. No grey.

Thought that may be the case, it is listed as a Ghia though ;)
Just had a look in the brochure scans and found this:
http://www.fordforums.com.au/photos/...ry.php?cat=611
From what I can see - on the Fairmonts only the bottom half was color-coded, the Ghias were fully color coded. However, both models had chrome strips all around..

Sand off the flaky bits, mask the area (with low tack tape) and spray with plastic primer, then spray with top coat (3 coats)
The paint from supercheap will work fine for that.

I did a similar repaint on my old EA, and because its white you wont be able to tell.
