alloy/mag wheel displacement

Im after a set of mags for the AU and I've noticed that the EL has the same PCD (5/114.3) but an ET of 10mm vs the AU's 35mm.
Does this mean they will fit but will hang 25mm further out the wheel arches, or have I got it backwards meaning they will need 25mm spacers (or have I got it totaly wrong and they wont fit at all - excuse my ignorance).

If what I beleive to be true is correct, that would mean all the following wheels should fit with the appropriate spacers...... right?

Is this right??? if not could someone correct me if Im wrong before I go buy a set of rims that wont fit.

E-series wheels will stick out past the guards on an AU ... I have seen this regularly ... and it looks crap ... and it illegal at the same time.

Can't put hub adaptors on .... as they will make them stick out further .... LOL

Does that mean that the rims from the other makes will fit with spacers?? will they possibly even fit without spacers?............ as far as under the arches go that would just be like putting fatties on the back wouldnt it (without the fat, lol)???

If you still wish to put other rims on then they MUST have a bigger offset then 35mm and a spacer added for the difference in size as you stated.
You can try without spacers but you might find the rims hits the suspension does not travel correctly and may cause you loss of control.

E series rims will stick out 25mm past the FRONT guards on an AU-BA
and on an E series the AU-BA rims will hit the strut tower assembly etc without spacers

awsom, thanks for the info, that cuts my expenses on mags by about 1/4 (falcon rims always seem to sell for so much more than other makes......)

With a nominal offset of 35, you can use mags with an offset between 25 and 45 with no worries at all. Anything else will sit to far out (the closer you go to 0), or too far in (for higher than 45). I have a set of Apec Apaches 18x8 which are 40 offset, and they are fine.
