So you'd rather pay $1.39 per litre than $1.13 per litre for standard unleaded fuel? Because the former is what I paid last October and the later is what I paid last week. I need a refill tomorrow and I'd be surprised if it was above $1.11 per litre at most places. Sure it is still expensive relative to 12 months ago but at least the prices aren't where they were during Sep-Oct 2005.

You do realise that the petrol running costs for a 'new' car is perhaps 25% of the total running costs?

If the prices would level to about $1 a litre than it would help out the Large car industry for both Holden and Ford.

True that, it really gives me the sh*ts, how can service stations justify those increases, yet not decrease immediately??

Its interesting that I paid $1.22 in Caringbah today for regular unleaded in the Territory. If fuel prices are dropping, I fail to see how. Lucky I don't pay for it.

The Wife still pays over $1.35 for BP Ultimate in the Mazda6, and that I do pay for. Lets hope they do drop.

yeah petrol has been gradually dropping to $1.11 a litre around Melbourne, however its still russian roulette as it still can spike backup to $1.30 overnight.

I think the key is if you see it cheap, then buy it, and as Dave Hughes said keep your recipt as when the liberals get into power we will all get a 4c refund

Realisticaly it could drop to 55 a barrel and the price at the pump wouldn't fall cause little johnnie would rather bend us over a little more than he already has!!! At the end of the day they know that those of us that believe it is a small price to pay to the FORD GODS will always be willing to pay for the pleasure we get out of our machines.

I got myseld 8.07 litres of Shell Optimax the other day for $10. That's 123.9 cents/litre.

Yesterday evening I filled up at Mobil, regular was 126.9, premium was 130.9 and 98 RON was 132.9. In two days regular went 112.9 -> 126.9, at almost every servo except Metro down the road from here (who Mobil supplies anyway) who have regular at 114.9. Every other servo is 125.9 or 126.9!

Paid $126.9 for regular unleaded tonight.

Everyone has noticed that when they say the barrel price has increased the price will jump within 12 hours but when the barrel price drops it literally takes as long as it takes for that load to reach the servo for the price to come down. (if at all)

Don't know what other cities are like but Sydney rises and falls significantly depending on the suburb your in....has nothing to do with rents either.
