Hi all,
We've read the forums for a while now, and thought it was high time we introduced ourselves. My name is Lisa and my husband is Dave. We have two daughters, Shania who is 6 and Erin who is 3 - and baby no. 3 is due in April. We are both Ford fans, and purchased our Ford earlier this year. We would've liked an XR, but a wagon is far more practical for us, so a Futura wagon is my daily driver. The only mod we have made to it so far is to take the factory mags off and put XR mags on it - a good mate of Dave's owns a tyre shop so the price was right. Eventually we would like to mod the performance of it though - and in the process make our fuel economy better as she chews through between 14-15l/100kms. So we'll probably need to seek advice from you guys for that. Here are a couple of pics of the Futura: Lisa

Thanks guys. I do have a slightly heavy foot, but not that bad.
We had it back at the Ford dealer before warranty ran out and they ran a check on the computer, but they said there wasn't a problem and everything was normal. The only thing they did say was it only had an 'average' computer in it. Uh huh, whatever. Other than the fuel consumption, it goes great. Lisa

Hi Lisa, Dave -
Nice to know you, I'm a tired, very old and increasingly cranky European leaning motorist's advocate. I need food and much sleep. Nice car n love the tint, but you need to order from your local Ford dealer Part No. A92SX 19F524AA, so write the part number down, buy it and store it in the boot area. BTW - Where is the pic taken? Sorry.....

See your Ford dealer for this $35.95 safety item & when you buy a new Ford, please insist on it! See Page 83, part 4.4.1 http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/media...eSafePart4.pdf |

Yep, mostly suburban driving. Lots of little trips to the shops and school.

you mention you were after an XR6, you could always fit an XR front to your futura, its just headlights, front bar and fog lamps...
something for you to think about doing anyhow.. welcome to the forums |

Dnn't worry to much about 14-15l/100k's. I have an XR8 ute which when only driven to work and back approx 7 k's each way averages about 18l/100k's. Hey but who cares it's only petrol and when it gets low you can fill up again. And be happy in the fact that your driving a FORD. Welcome to the forums and hope ypu enjoy.

Thanks all for the warm welcome! Sorry the pics are so large - I was trying to crop them to fit better and then my edit time ran out and they just ended up huge.
I've seen a few arguments erupt so I'll be sure to be careful - I'm not here to intentionally upset anyone. Raptor, you live in a pretty part of the world - you may have seen our wagon about. We are about 15-20 mins north of you, but spend some time down your way. Thanks again for the welcome everyone, it was great! Lisa

re: fuel economy...
Are wagons geared different? I imagine they don't have the control blad rear suspension either? |
