Has anybody attempted to fit a light to the near-useless digital clock in the AU dash? I imagine side lighting with LEDs would do it, but is it feasable?

I think your globe must be burnt out for the clock. I could see it just fine when I had the AU1 XR8.

The handbook doesn't list a globe for the clock, I can't locate one in the wiring diagram so I'm assuming there isn't one. Is the AU1 dash very different from the AU3?

you have to get your radio out, remove the air cond surround and just put a new globe in. Mines an AUII and it lights up a grey colour like the dash does ;)
