Default Extractors and Exhaust on EBAY

Are the extractors and exhaust that are selling on ebay for the au falcon any good.

I have rang up numerous places to get my extractors done and exhaust and they have quoted my $1400. But i can buy the parts my self for under $1000 and get them put in by my mechanic. I'm wondering what is the best way?

I rang a local place up here for a quote on what your after and he said to me that he'd supply and fit the parts for $940.

Originally I was going to do the same thing as you, but decided not to.

Up to you which way you wanna go really...

Yep - get them ($450 for 4480s is pretty good) and the 2.5" red back cats back system (around $380 odd) and you're laughing. They are genuine pacemaker and red back systems. I've bought both off him in the past and had no problems at all.

I have also bought these headers off this bloke, I picked them up from his shop. They are the real deal and give a noticable increase in power when coupled with a decent 2.5" system. My dad fitted these at home, took him about 5 hours taking it easy, hardest part is cutting and rewelding the engine pipe I think.

Do you want a huge increase? If so, then get the cats back without the rear muffler section (ie straight through pipe). If you want a bit of noise only, then get the rear muffler section - this is what I have on the wagon, and it's actually very, very nice. A bit of a bark, but not too loud (just what I wanted in the family car).

The extractors won't change the noise level too much, its more the exhaust, I would advise getting the cat back with a single muffler at the rear, like JCXR8 says. This is what I have, and without the muffler you would be cop bait I'm thinking.

How are the redback exhausts with the hotdog rear section?
Is there much fiddling to get these cat back systems to fit to the headers?

$450 for pacies with HPC is bloody awesome!

They are not actually HPC. They are coated in Pacemaker's Heat Proof Coating, to stand up to 1300 degrees. HPC or Jet-Hot Coatings, come off really chrome like, and can with stand higher temperatures afaik.

The shop is called online performance or something, it's actually on Park Road in Cheltenham Victoria. I'm pretty sure it's got a website but ebay doesnt allow him to link to it.

Im going for an extractor/exhaust system on my Au 2 SR wagon shortly ,I have been eyeing off the red back system my self ,dont know to get straight through rear section or the muffler peice,though.?

As for extractors are'nt the 4499s a better choice over 4480s.
Im only going off what ive read on this forum.As alot of us on here these days im looking for economy first then performance.

I have the redback system for the wagon from online performance (via ebay), and I got the rear muffler section. I get asked every noe and then if it's an 8, so it must have a bit of a note, though next to my XR8 it is fairly quiet. I would recommend getting the muffler section first, and if you don't like it, get a straight through section put in - won't cost too much extra if you go that way.

I have the 4499s and am happy with them, though next time I would get the 4480s just for something different.

i am getting pacemaker ph4499 and a high flow cat and 2.5inch exhaust installed for $830 in about 6 weeks
i think this is an awesome bargain. to fit em yourself you need a MIG welder and more importantly, u need to know how to use one!

Was thinking of buying the exhaust from ebay but then I got a redback 2.5" system with the rear muffler fitted for $260 including a chrome tip Monday heaps cheaper than anywhere else. Sounds great too :hihi:

From the same place he will do the PH4499's for $450 (cant fit 4480 due to lpg) but theres an ebay store selling them for $330 now, are the extractors a easy to fit?

The 4480 headers are Competition style headers. As for which one is better, I won't make comment until I see two cars running the same exhaust system, one with 4499, one with 4480 on a dyno.

It's aftermarket but I got the same system as factory, uses all the same brackets etc so it wont be getting moved.

i got factory system and i am not going to bother to move it.. apparently pacie ph4499's clear it by a little, but i am worried about the heat to the viall converter. if someone can tell me if the heat is fine, i will be very pleased!!

Seeing the converter runs on heat (supplied by hot water pipes from radiator), it should be more than fine!

I bought 4499's off these guys a while back. They even stood by the warranty 18 months after I bought them with no questions asked.

Who said that? I have the 4480 fitted to mine and it's LPG. Is yours factory LPG?
How do the headers go on gas? I;ve often pondered getting them for my wagon, but have been hesitant because of the gas system.
