Good work. Now be prepared for that first year of idiocy before you calm down. I was lucky i learnt before getting fined or having an accident. Believe me you will be temptd to push it once your mama is outta the car. I said i wouldnt and i did so just take it easy mate. Enjoy the independence it brings. Once you have your licence you never know how you lived without it.
Stay safe and enjoy. |

I was failed the first attempt for my P's. The assessor freaked me out by grabbing the handbrake while I was doing my 3 point turn, backing towards a stormwater canal. I was in a manual and stalled the car, rolled backwards a little and she gasped like we were going to crash over the gutter, through a fence and into the canal. I was SO p*ssed off.
Had she left things alone I would have been fine. Then she told me I failed because I didn't use the handbrake :

HPT is very easy if youre doing it in an auto - you cant fail unless you really screw up in which case you need more practice anyway.
From memory mine cost me over $100 which was a bloody ripoff, was something like $40 for the test and $60 for the licence. With Green P's the test is **** EASY (if youre any good at playing computer games you will pass with flying colours) and the cost is again something ridiculous like $95 or so.

I'm in the process of learning to drive and hopefully my p's won't be too far away. Can you believe that Dk's landau is SPECIFICALLY listed in the 98(!!) page list of cars p platers can't drive under the new rules?! Most people have never heard of it so they've been pretty thorough in their list. :(
