Default The windows have had their revenge. :(

Well some of you are aware that i put my foot through a window not so long ago. Well for weeks it has not healed and I could not work out why. So last weekend I decided that i was sick of not wearing enclosed shoes. Yeap you guessed it, it just made it worse. Now I know why. There was a piece of the window still in there that had decided to appear out the side of my foot. Well tonight I got fed up with it and numb the are and pulled it out. I now have a hole in my foot. So I am not a happy girl. :(

no pics. The glass is about half the size of a 5c piece and twice as thick. Impressive.

Doesnt sound like fun, and as a Man, I am smilling in the fact that I would have gone straight to the Doc to get Max sympathy and avoid the said issue.

Do hope you get better fast

Ouch, that's a fair sized piece of glass!

It's perhaps suprising how often glass doesn't show up on xrays, that combined with the attitude that the medical profession has of "it'll be ok, your body will just push it out" - sometimes without even telling you that there's still glass there! :(

Bloody Oath!

If there are no girlies around, then normally an injury is taken like a woman, you know, a small wimper, pffft and get on with it

but get a girlie on the scene and its a bloody action flick and some serious ownage!

You have my empathy, unfortunately glass does not show up to well on x-ray film and it takes a radiographer with some experience to spot these things.

However i must take you to task for being cruel to a glass window what did it do to you to deserve you kicking the crap out of it.hehehehe

Ok laminge for starters Rule one dont take the mother of four kids on. You wont win... Secondly.. My foot slipped while trying to move the girls bunk bed back into position after i had cleaned the entire carpet in the house so therefore the carpet was still slightly damp. Mind you all of this could have been avoided if the original owners put 5mm glass in instead of 3mm fart and break glass. And it was not a action flick as you call it. I only screamed for somebody to get me a towel so i didnt bleed all over the carpets that i had just cleaned. ( so there ) The pharmists is the one who told me to go to the doctors. Casper decided hospital after Mrs casper said no way. So mrs casper would have been ok if normal gp doctor looked at it first instead of emergency room doctor who was pushed for time. :( but on a happier note i can now walk on my foot.

I was with my mum when our XW got T-Boned by a Valiant many years ago. It was at least 12 years before a Doctor located a piece of XW glass in mum's neck.

"Doctor, I've got a lump in my neck!"
"It's nothing, don't worry about it."

Yeah my mum still has glass in her foot from when she stepped on a bit in the backyard as a child!! The docs said as long as it doesn't hurt her, it's probably been "cocooned" by her body as a defense mechanism, so it really doesn't matter.

Aint that the truth lol. I have Sciatica (for about 4 weeks now) which has badly affected my foot. Doctor said the only way it will heal is with complete rest otherwise I risk permanent muscle/nerve damage. I laughed "Rest? I'm a mother - there's no such thing" I said. And my other half would rather wait for my foot to drop off before realising it's serious lol but the other day complained to me about a splinter he got at work "Oh it stings". Pfffft @ males!

I hope your foot get's better soon If you're not already using it, I must recommend Liquid Bandaid. That stuff is awesome!
