OK, can anyone help?.
I want to install an AUII dash cluster out of either an XR6 or Fairmont into my AUII futura. The reason for this is I want to get rid of the idiot light for the oil pressure, because we all know that when that little sucker lights up it's too late any way! has anyone done this and can you enlighten me on how hard the job was and what wiring mods I will need to do. I can read wiring diagrams and am fairly handy with wiring. I have rewired some mates cars in the past (engine bays etc). Thanx guys, look forward to hearing from you |

bad news the oil "gague" on the S2/3 is a fake it's really an idiot light with a needle and always reads 3/4 or 0. it uses a switch not a sender. but if you still want to do it PM me with your email and i'll send you a word doc with all the details

yep, if you're only doing it to get rid of the idiot light you aren't going to unfortunately. if you want a real gauge you will have to go for a series one cluster - not really a good option. Maybe an aftermarket gauge in a pillar pod or something ... also I saw on the forums someone had a gauge pod that fits in under the ashtray area.

A S1 cluster won't go into a S2 the audio controls go through the cluster and the volume will just shoot up to maximum
