I have just had my Transaxle serviced and Im ready to fit it back onto the Engine.
There a a couple of sensors that are attached. One is located on the front just under the clutch arm where the clutch cable is attached. This one shows up as the reversing light switch. The other is located on the back of the Transaxle just under the half shaft for the RHS. I can see the gear selector shaft through the threaded hole. Its been a few months since I removed the Transaxle from the car and cannot find or remember what this sensor/switch function is or what it is called so I can order a new one. Maybe it has something to do with the cruise control? Any one have any idea/

Neutral switch? Wondering if the Mazda WSM supplement in the Technical resources section would help. See here.

Ah!! Its a Neutral position Sensor. Sends signal to the ECU when car is in Neutral so ECU can adjust accordingly.

Where would I be able to purchase one of these?
Nothing on Ebay. Only Reversing switch's there. I have purchased a new Reversing switch so will screw my old one into the Neutral Sensor hole. Might not work but will stop all my Transaxle fluid from leaking out. Cheers For that info

I have a reversing light switch.
I am looking for a Neutral sensor. Screws in on the back of Transaxle just under the RHS drive shaft. Looks similar to the Reversing light switch but has a black 2 pin connector

Which one are you referring to? Number 18 is the part I mentioned below, number 9 is the reverse switch, part number F40417640B.
