Hi all,
Would greatly appreciate it if someone can tell me what thread size is used in the three holes on the factory crank damper for the removal tool Already stripped the thread on one bolt which I thought would fit... |

Last time I did one I bought a Stanley balancer removal kit and it had the right bolts in it.

Ive got the equivalent 13 piece repco branded kit with the 'duck's foot' forged piece. No good on any of those bolts. Rust may be a factor though.
Might have to borrow a tap set and chase the threads out but would prefer to know before hand what thread it actually is. Also just realised I put this in Aufalcon.com.au forum instead of AU-BF forum. Apologies! |

Yes... I remember doing one on a mates EL back in the day and the threads were imperial. I'd assume the AU would be the same.
The kits I would buy back them included imperial thread bolts, you'd have to go out any buy metric bolts if you needed it for the I6. Just had to make sure you bought quality high tensile bolts. |

Ok so eventually got it sorted. They're 5/16 UNC but there's a good chance you'll need to chase the threads with a tap. Mine were well rusted and immediately destroyed the first bolt I tried.
