Default XR8 BF transmission fault

Hi,can anyone help?
My BFXR8 has a problem with changing gears…lags to change and is then very jerky. I’ve had it looked at by a Ford dealer and they have told me the transmission cooler has leaked coolant into the transmission!
Does anyone know if this is common???
Any help would be appreciated as I’ve been quoted $8500 for repairs!!!

Replacing/rebuilding a ZF is not cheap, plus you have to replace the transmission heat exchanger.

Try a couple of local transmission places for quotes.

Search on user BF11GhiaZF6 - he's researched these transmissions extensively.

PS - IIRC there was a recall on V8s.
