Hey guys, so I've been spending the last week or so looking at cars and thought I'd figured out that I wanted a mkii titanium, but finally doing some research found that the car has/can have transmission issues?? Just wanted to ask around whether this would best be a car to avoid or if there is a fix or the titanium models some how missed all the issues??
Thanks guys! |

"Issues" an interesting way to put it.
They are not a true automatic, rather a automised manual. People have had issues understanding the way they need to be driven resulting in abnormally high wear on internal components. Unless you've driven the car for more than a few minutes and trust that it is in A1 condition and that you understand the different driver dynamics required - steer clear.

Perhaps consider aiming for a brand new trend or sport to avoid the DCT issues if you like the focus.

There is a class action against ford for a number of vehicles including Fiesta and focus for the transmission issue not worth the risk.. resale value would be cap and ford is not going to ever fix it.

Do not buy a Fiesta or any Focus with powershift transmission-ours 3 clutch replacements in 50000 and lost bulk resale value.

Depends on the price, service history and the condition of the car.
Ford have offered us 7yrs transmission warranty on our Focus and Fiesta. I am hearing that this will be extended to 10yrs shortly. I think the extended warranty in light of the class action gives me extra piece of mind
