I want to install a towbar to my 2011 Ford Focus LW Ambiente 5 door hatch for carrying bikes (I have a strap on bike rack but they are putting to much weight on the plastic spoilers of the hatch). Can anyone suggest an installer in Sydney and if you have one installed, how much did it cost you ?

I called carasel towbars and they said they don't fit towbars to LW Focus because their machines cannot bend the pipes to fit the LW Focus. Actually I called 3 installers and they said they don't have towbars for LW series (2011 onwards). One of them gave me advice to avoid certain installers as they use sub-standard metal. He did recommend carasel and cosmopolitan at botany rd.
I got a quote of $320 from cosmopolitan towbars and $480 from fastfit on leichhard. |

Place out at Carlton charged around $500 for my lv bar but tore the rubber weather seal near in half in the process.
If your car has reverse sensors, look into either getting the correct harness that turns off the beeping or try and wire in a switch to turn them off.

No, the rubber that lines the hatch opening. Rather than use a tool to pry the plastic clips out it seems they just grabbed the rubber and yanked it and tore it near clean in half in the process.
Then used white silicone to try and repair it....
