Police car in crash after ute fails to give way
BY PAT NOLAN 28 Jun, 2012 01:00 AM SMALL fender benders in supermarket car parks are nothing new. But one young driver found himself in a collision with the worst kind of car yesterday – a Victoria Police highway patrol car. The 22-year-old Ballarat man was turning out of the car park onto Grenville Street when he failed to give way to an oncoming police vehicle. The police car T-boned the Holden ute on the driver door, causing extensive damage to both cars.Ambulance Victoria was called but the driver was not injured. http://www.thecourier.com.au/news/lo...y/2606057.aspx  |

The police should have been driving at a speed that allowed them to stop for anything! Must have been speeding! haha.

I would say that the copper is in trouble regardless of who actually caused the accident.
As a driver for an emergency service, it is drummed into us that we are always at fault if we are involved in an accident. unfair, maybe, but we need to be more 'aware' than John Q Public. |

Cop had right of way but what is the speed max of that street 50km???
He should of easily been able to stop or caused minor damage at most... |

its quite possible that the ute jumped out in front of him leaving very little reactive time.. even at 50km..
My XF panelvan was a mess after I t boned a red light runner on an intersection.. and I barely made it to 40kph.

Can't see what the fuss is about....Accidents happen all the time....just because a cop car was involved doesn't mean alot, other than having to ring the to attend the prang

A wheel alignment fixes everything, when it comes to front end issues. This includes any little noises.
