I am just curious if 96 fairlanes came standard with a LSD diff?

No they didnt.
Fairmont Ghia's did, but Fairlane's did not.

Ok thanks for that. A mate and I have just organised to pick up a 1996 fairlane ghia for $200. Its has the chrome and grey leather bits still in it and only needs a 3 tires and 3 electric windows fixed and it would be complete
