Stripes down middle of FG XR6?

Hey guys.

I went and booked my car in to get the stripes down the middle of my card. But someone told me that there called GT stripes? and that getting them put on a FG is really gay idea.

Is it true that there GT only type stripes and it will look homo on a FG?

But to answer the OP question. Nothing is gay anymore man. As soon as people starting putting day lights on their FGs in there backyard, it was all down hill from there. There is nothing you could do thats "homo" enough that hasnt already been done...... Twice

Just do it. They are just strips of coloured tape. I don't think FPV invented them.

What a load of twaddle, over the top stripes are more commonly referred to as Le Mans stripes and have nothing to do with GT's.

It's your car, do with it what you want.

I put GT strips down the middle of my Mirage I had at the time.

I had some spare black vinyl and wanted to see what it looked like. Alot of people took the **** (GT stripes on the most underpowered jap car), but that aside, the job turned out pretty nice.

Its your car and you have to live with it. Just make sure you can pull the stripes off easy enough when you go to sell - they areen;t everyones cup of tea.

If it's bonnet only that's xy gt look, but most wouldn't have a clue now days.
If it's over bonnet, roof & boot. Then that's more of a cobra look, especially if it's white car blue stripes.

i reckon as long as the stripes aren't too thin it will look great! (fatter stripes will suit the wide stance of the FG's).

its amusing that people jump to the defense of those wanting to modify their fords with add ons that came out on different models, but carry on completely opposite if someone dares put a chev badge on their commodore!!

I think there's a clear difference. A badge represents what the car is. Stripes are bits of colored tape. It would be no different to me sticking a Volvo badge on my car because it's driven by a Volvo engine. Car was screwed together by ford.

stripes have appeared on many models over the years from all makes. very few, if any, have had less than 8cyl's under the hood. whilst it doesn't make it right or wrong, to me its right up there with bonnet bulges and looks extremely try hard.

I once had a white XE auto with RED stripes! LOL! I put the falcon badge on the bonnet on one of the stripes and a rear gemini vent on the bonnet! LOL! Oh look guys here comes the race car! I copped it :P Anyway i liked it.
