I need a way of mounting the iPhone in the car. I want to either wire it to the car or rig up something behind the dash. Will have to have a sat nav, sonot keen on another suction thing hanging off the windscreen.
Anyone using Hold my phone/Clip on holders? Not too fussed if it's not iPhone, just interested in feedback on them. Thanks!

I've used Hold My Phone brackets and cradles for a few years, I have two in my work Ranger, one for the phone and one for the two-way. Highly recommend them mate.

Any photos, Dash. Where's yours located?
I saw the installation photos, don't seem too complicated. Even an active one to hardwire in doesn't look too tricky, just finding the right wires. I've just bought a FG XR6 and it's going in this, not the Terrotory.

Hey Dash, you've got an external aerial there. That's not a kit for the iPhone from Hold My Phone is it? Where'd you get that one from? Does it need an installer to do the wiring for the aerial?

Hi mate...
That kits a smoother talker one... Theres also a Carcomm one I think... No you dont really need an installer to fit the external antenna... mine has 2 whips, the small one is on atm (left hand antenna is phone, right hand is UHF). I need antennas because I go into the country and lose reception without them, still lose with them too in really bad spots.... Also if you fit the bracket its got a quicker charge then the cars ipod cable... Can fully charge my iphone in about half an hour to 40 minutes. http://www.thfcomms.com.au/iPhone-cradle.html

That cradle also allows me to use the AUX input, if you have a look its got a jack on the side of it, which means I can still use my Iphone as an ipod... Just docked on the dash.
Learnt the hardway that you need a cradle to be legally able to use the phone, even though its not in legislation if you use the phone with bluetooth and no cradle they can still book you.... :S

Is the smooth talker adjustable to take a phone with a skin on it? The hold my phone one is and I hate changing out of the skin all the time.
Looking good.
