Are the foam sleeves that come in the walbro kits submersible in fuel?. reason i asked is the fuel pump filter is black after only about a week after the tank had been removed and cleaned out spotless?
and anyone after a submersible hose, you can get it at EFI Hardware in mitcham. I cant beleive how hard it was to get an intank hose and how many people said a normal efi hose will work intank :s |

Out of curiostiy, do you use ethanol blended fuel, E10 or similar?

sure is submersible .. efi hardware are great. awesome prices. my previous cars old owner used standard hosing which melted in my tank. what a ***** of a job to fix it that was.

Whats the go with the foam sleeve..........Is it used so the pump fits in the standard cradle?

yeh pretty much, walbro is smaller in diameter then the standard pump so it wont fit without modding it some how. With the foam sleeve, you can squeeze it snug into the fuel pump cradle assembly.
Just wasnt sure if it could be used intank, as people generally have it on to reduce noise from the pump. |

the foam sleeve, i could only find on ebay. Fairly cheap, comes in under $10 with postage included, but from the states though. Autobarn, burson, repco etc dont sell individual parts (filter, sleeve etc) for walbro :s
Also found this for anyone running an intank hose, this is the same mackay hose i got from mitcham. http://www.airpowersystems.com/corve...ose_report.htm Basically saying all intank hoses swell to some degree after 70 something hours and should not be over tighten. Might be best to pre-soaked any hose before putting in your tank for a couple of days then tighten the clamp on. |
