Hi all
as the title suggests Im replacing the headlights on my 06 LX. Ive ordered some Osram nightbreaker globes. When I checked out the job, access to the globes isnt obvious and it seems as though there is probably a technique/procedure for changing them. Id love to hear from anyone who has done this job before cheers in advance Shep |

easy one
first you have to remove the headlight which is one screw on the top & a clip at the back of the pannel that the headlight is mounted too that comes from the bottom of the headlight. Indicated by my crude masking tape arrows in the pic.  then once the headlight is out you can then remove a pannel at the back which is where the globe is located. there is a visible wire clip that holds them in place. when you unclip this wire you can take the globe out. just one last thing to remember when handling globes, if you want them to work dont touch the glass unless you wear gloves or the oils from your skin can make them break when they heat up. Any other questions just ask. hope this helps |

brilliant, I love the tape arrow - shows much more love than a 'paint' arrow
 They can be quiet hard to get the wiring loom off.. My passenger was change, my drivers still is stuck...

exactly what I needed, thanks Neale, much appreciated. Hopefully the globes turn up tommorow so I can get them in and give them a test on the weekend. I will definately post my findings on here , hopefully they are positive!

you dont really need to unplug loom connector as the loom should be long enough to allow access to the cover
make sure cover clicks back inplace.

as luck would have it one of my bulbs blew over the weekend must have been due to the very hot then sudden cooler temps in sydney
are ford dealers the only place to get the genuine motorcraft bulbs? |

maybe, I recall reading in another thread that they were motorcraft.
either way, I went with a safe choice and grabbed some german made Narvas |

sorry its been a while. Have had these new globes in for a month and am happy with the improvement. Will be interested to get them on a country road but they have definately made a noticeable improvement over the standard lights
