Im sure it can be done or has been done. The question other than noise and no belt slip is why?

They sound tough yes, but the effort involved to get custom length serp belt with integrated teeth and pulleys with integrated teeth would be difficult and somewhat costly. Unless there is an off the shelf kit available, I wouldn't bother.

I'd consider looking at adjusting your current serp setup first to see if you can stop the slip. But I can see why the appeal is there.

So are there any kits available? And why do they sound good?

CAPA do a universal pulley kit. You would have to work out what pulley sizes you needed and also work out what length of belt is required. But it is possible. Just not cheap. I say keep ya cash and look at alternate options. Perhaps some kind of additive or solvent to put on the belt to maintain grip.

Great find coey. That would be a far better option and no doubt cheaper than a gilmer drive belt kit.

there is plenty of those kits to suit old school V8's but I have yet to see a kit to suit an inline 6 for ford. maybe the occasional x-flow, but nothing SOHC related.

like i said give them a call they may have too many to list..
or see what price they can come up with to have one made/modified to suit..
even if it cost $500 is it worth it??

Default gilmer pulley and belt

i have a new gilmer pulley i bought for my 302 windsor XT still in the box
but i have other plans now
2 beautiful shiny pulleys and a belt
don't know whether it'll fit a later model car

no slip
sounds like you have stuff going on under the bonnet

That's the question, is it worth it?

I wonder if you would have clearance issues. There's not a heap of room in front of the balancer.

yes I wouldnt be counting on a lot of room with the thermo's in the way. I think it would take some time, accurate measurements and patience to make a custom fit. Not impossible, but doable. The pulleys will most likely be custom turned and made to order. Depends on how much money you have to blow.
