ANTIQUE MGs and Porsches have been destroyed in a huge factory fire on the Gold Coast.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said the fire broke out in a factory complex on Kendor St at Arundel about 11.45pm,completely gutting five of the six units in the complex.

They included a panel beater and a smash repair business where several antique MGs and Porsches were undergoing work.

Police said a lot of earth moving equipment was also destroyed with the damages bill expected to exceed a million dollars.

Eight fire appliances responded to the blaze after emergency services were inundate with triple zero calls.

She said the complex, which also fronted Brisbane Rd, included Mitre 10.
