Default Important Information re: XCAL1 Flash Tuners

Good evening

For those members who currently have the SCT XCAL1 Flash Tuner, the information below should be noted.

Thanks to Rob for providing the information and for his efforts in keeping these devices active for the additional period of time. There will be more news shortly regarding some (long awaited) new capabilities about to launched for the XCAL3 boxes.

[font=Arial','sans-serif]Dear Valued Herrod customer & SCT tuner.

As with time on any software package there is only certain operational life, so with regret we have to announce that the SCT XCal 1 tune device is no longer being supported by SCT with the Advantage Custom Tuning Software.

There was originally a plan to have these devices switched off over 16 months ago by SCT.

Herrod Motorsport, after much negotiation with SCT, has been able to keep the XCal 1 units operating allowing time for tuners and end users to update to the later X3 tuning device or continue to re-tune their existing XCal1.

Going back over 6 months ago, Herrod Motorsport had put out offers of trading in devices with tuners, to give their customers the option of updating to the new X3 device. This offer was taken up by a few tuners & dealers.

Due to the XCal 1 devices being switched off, Herrod Motorsport will offer for 90 days only, from the 16th June 2010, to the end user a $200.00 factory rebate on the purchase of a new X3 tuning device.

Conditions of the rebate are that it must be returned to Herrod Motorsport unlocked and be accompanied by a copy of invoice from the Supplier/Tuner from which the new X3 unit was purchased.

Please make sure that the returned unit also has the purchases name and address attached.

If you have any questions or queries at all, please contact myself directly on the details below.

Following up on some frequently asked questions:

Q: any idea on how long this offer is for?

A: I have decided to extend this date by a couple of weeks and make the cut date the end of september so people dont miss out as i feel a date through the middle of the month my become confusing to some. This offer is redeemable through every Herrod/SCT dealer Australia and NZ.

Q: If an Xcal3 is bought can the tunes from the Xcal1 be transfered directly also?

A:
You can do this but you must go back to the tuner that did the tune on your vehicle as they should have your tune on file and will be able to load it onto the X3 - if not you will need to have the car re-tuned.
